The tradition to implement applicative activities and in their framework - testing is an action as old as the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering itself. For the entire period of developing of the faculty, there is an integrated practical education and training for the areas of the technique.
Special influence of the development of the testing technique had the industrial development of the Republic of Macedonia in the former Yugoslav Republic.
The establishment of the study course Mechanization machines and vehicles in the beginning of the 1970’s, meant an intensive development of the capacities and activities in testing of mobile and stationary machines and vehicles, who besides the methodologies of testing mechanical characteristics of materials, parts, systems, devices and equipment are the main components of activity in the Laboratory for testing of mechanical properties, machines and vehicles.
From the begging, into the next decades there are multiple projects that are realized in collaboration with important companies in the former Yugoslav Republic:
From the independence of the Republic of Macedonia, the Faculty has made efforts in the adjustment of the changes in the economy and started intensive communication with many European and international companies, among them are: Daimler AG, MAN, VOLVO, Iveco, Johnson Controls and others. The Faculty actively collaborates in projects who attract foreign investments in which the laboratory capacities have a main role.
