Faculty of Mechanical Engineering realizes the measurements in its Laboratory for testing of mechanical properties, machines and vehicles completely independent, competent and impartial.
The tests are carried out in accordance with the current achievements in the methods and equipment for testing the standard ISO 17025 and the principles of good laboratory practice, by validated methods, domestic and international standards and applicable legal regulation.
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering - Skopje for performing its laboratory activity accredits the Laboratory for testing of mechanical properties, machines and vehicles according to ISO17025 General Requirements for the competence in its activity.
The testing of mechanical characteristics in the laboratory is in accordance to the accredited method according to the standard EN ISO 6892-1 2009 (testing of mechanical characteristics of metals that are under strain), and also, by customer demand and according to domestic and international standards and validated methods who satisfy the demands of customers. The evaluation and presentation of the measure inconclusiveness is in accordance to valid methods and work instructions.
The testing of machines is consisted of a broad specter of experimental and virtual tests in the area of performance, reliability, strength, expertise, expert witnessing, development testing and special testing that are conducted by customer demand.
The testing may be conducted by separate standards and regulations (testing of performances), as well as by the methodology which is determined to give an answer to certain questions (expert witnessing tests and giving expertise). In certain cases, by the customers demand, the tests are according to certain methods and test programs. Special position in these methodologies has the regulation for machines 2006/42/EC, which actually is the Regulation for machine safety.
The testing of vehicles is a broad range of experimental and virtual tests that are conducted in the development phases, certification, exploitation, expertise, expert witnessing and special purpose tests.
The goal of these tests is to determine the performances, the strength and safety characteristics, the reliability characteristics, the workloads, forensic tests, etc.
The test process is conducted by standardized and specially developed and verified procedures.
Most commonly regulations are the technical specifications of the Republic of Macedonia, respectively to the regulatives from the EU, the regulations of the Economic commission for Europe in the UN in Geneva, as well as the harmonized (EU) and other (ISO) standards.
